The application of mobile technology in learning English

The speed of development in wireless mobile technology is remarkable -- many mobile phones based on computers possess more and more digital features, such as personal affairs programs of PDAs with unlimited connection to the Internet. Such equipment has significant potential for education, and mobile learning research is focusing on ways of making full use of wireless mobile technology and mobile computers to assist teaching and learning.

This paper explores the concept and models of mobile learning, and outlines a study on the design and construction of mobile English learning models based on the characteristics of English teaching and learning, which provide English learners with a safe, authentic, individual and satisfying environment in which to gain English knowledge and skills.
