Recently, e-learning technology has been applied to all specialized fields of education. However, there is an urgent need to overcome the limitations of current systems based on browsers and an HTML environment. An innovative e-learning framework and system is needed to allow students to develop and demonstrate their creative abilities and to build up their capacity for application, which is important in an area such as automation technology which involves practical training.
This research applies semantic theory to create a semantic e-learning system for the purpose of promoting student's creative ability. Also, virtual reality techniques are used to establish an interactive virtual laboratory to improve student's application ability.
