In recent years, probably the fastest-growing method for delivering training is Web-based training. However, although Web-based training has many advantages, this does not mean that it is suitable for adoption by all enterprises. Before its implementation, it needs to be evaluated to avoid causing unnecessary expenditure and losses.
This paper proposes an evaluation model which integrates qualitative and quantitative methodologies for Web-based training and consists of the following stages: (i) defining the indices; (ii) measuring the indices (iii) a preliminary inspection of alternatives; and (iv) using TOPSIS to evaluate the alternatives.
A case study of its use by a design and manufacturing company is described which shows that the model is workable.
