Research and implementation of a self-adaptive test system based on IRT

Using item response theory (IRT), this paper analyses the parameters in an automatic computer- generated test paper, from which is derived a model of a self-adaptive Web-based computer test system. The differences in the attainments of the students tested were examined in an effort to improve the robustness of the automated examination paper in a network.
In developing the self-adaptive network test model, close attention was paid to the design of the system's framework, to overcome implementation difficulties and find the most elegant design concept for developing the network management.
